Nicolas has cerebral palsy. His sister Mia loves him very much and plays with him every day. She knows that Nicolas is sick, but it doesn't bother her - she is very happy that she has a brother. Mia helps her parents take care of him, feeds him, goes for walks with him. Mia listens to music with Nicolas. Once upon a time, there were two loving moms, Ann and Tin quinn, who wanted to start a family. They loved each other very much and dreamed of having a baby together. One day, they decided to visit a doctor who helped people have babies in a special way called IVF.

The doctor explained that they could use a tiny seed from a kind man to help make a baby. The seed would join with a little egg from one of them, and together, they would grow into a baby inside Tin's tummy. Both Ann and Tin quinn were thrilled, and soon enough, they were blessed with a beautiful baby boy named Andre.

As the years passed, Andre grew into a curious toddler. One day, he looked up at his moms with big, innocent eyes and asked, "Mommy, how did I get here? You're both girls!"

Ann and Tin quinn smiled and sat down with Andre. Ann gently explained, "Well, Andre, you are very special. We wanted you so much, and we asked a doctor to help us. A kind man shared a little seed, and that seed, with a little egg from me, made you. Then you grew in my tummy until you were ready to come out and meet us!"

Tin Quinn added, "And we loved you from the very start. Just because we’re both girls doesn’t change how much we love you or how special you are."

Andre thought about it for a moment, then hugged both his moms tightly. "I’m happy I’m here," he said with a big smile.

And from that day on, andre knew that he was made from love, and that was all that mattered.

1.  John Jr and Yuēhàn came across a document called the Emancipation Proclamation when learning about the Civil War.  They wanted to better understand the importance of this document.  John Jr started looking up more information.
2..  John Jr discovered some facts about the Emancipation Proclamation and shared them with Yuēhàn. The Emancipation Proclamation was a document issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, that declared enslaved people in the Confederate states to be free.
3.  John Jr explained that the proclamation had several effects, including: 
 Strengthening the Union: The proclamation added moral force to the Union's cause and strengthened it politically and militarily. 
 Capturing the imagination: The proclamation captured the imagination of millions of Americans. 
 Authorizing the recruitment of African Americans: The proclamation authorized the recruitment of African Americans into the Union army. By the end of the Civil War, about 180,000 African Americans had served in the Union army and 18,000 in the navy. 
 Transforming the war: The proclamation transformed the character of the war. 
4.  Yuēhàn  told John Jr that   The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free."  and it  applied to the following states: South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, and North Carolina.

Chensan was a lively and cheerful boy. He lived within the old walled village of Longxue Head, where his family's ancestral hall had been built beside the walls for generations. Every day after school, Chensan would go play at the gate of the ancestral hall. The moss-covered ancient stone steps in front of the hall was where Chensan liked to jump around, pretending he was a dragon.

Chensan's best playmate was Meihu, a girl from the neighboring village who grew up there. They often went together to the Tianhou Temple in Longxue Head to play, looking at the candles and offerings in front of the statues. Chensan found everything in the Tianhou Temple novel. Sometimes, he and Meihu would also go to the ancient well at the entrance of the village to have water fights.
It was Chensan's tenth birthday and he was excited for the lantern lighting ceremony. That night, dressed in traditional attire, he carried a torch and incense burner as he walked to the Deng Gong Shrine in Songling. It was Chensan's first time entering the majestic shrine hall, and he was amazed. Under the light of the flames, the glittering wall paintings appeared one by one before his eyes.

After the lantern lighting ceremony ended, Chensan and his family went to the Tianhou Temple to pay respects. On the way home, the moon hung high in the sky, bathing the ancient walled village in an unusually peaceful glow. For the first time, Chensan developed a deep fondness for the traditional culture of his hometown.
As Chensan grew older, he began to learn more about the history and culture of Longxue Head. From the village head and other elders, he heard the origins of the walled village, shrine halls, and Tianhou Temple. Chensan also started researching how to preserve these important cultural heritages that represent the local traditions...

 Hurricane Beryl  barely hit Jamaica. 
Jamaica has fourteen parishes, Manchester, St. James, St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Ann, St. Mary, St. Elizabeth, Trelawny, St. Catherine, Clarendon, Portland, Westmoreland and Hanover 

During hurricane season, Jamaica buys extra dry goods, such as breads Foska Oats, Brunswick Sardines, tin mackerels, salted cod fish and alot of water.  Most Jamaicans didnt think the storm was going to touch Jamaica.  The rains started and the people especially those that did not prepare. The storm barely touched Jamaica. however the paishes and Manchester, St. Elizabeth and Clarendon were hit by the storm. alot of light posts went down. houses lost roofs.  Bananas and plantines were the hardest hit

1.  Vasi asked John Jr about being Kind.  Vasi had heard that a brief act of kindness can change people’s hearts.  Vasi thought that sounded like something that he wanted to do. 
2. John Jr told Vasi that kindness was the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.  John Jr and Vasi decided to go out and try to be kind to everything for the day.
3.  They went for walk into town.  John Jr decided to gather old books to donate to the Children's home. John Jr told Vasi to smile at everyone.  They smiled and everyone smiled back. John Jr and Vasi took books to the Children's home and they recieved compliments for their kindness.  That made John Jr and Vasi feel good inside.
2.  John Jr and Vasi decided to go to store to pick up something to feed the birds and a snack for themselves.  When they got to store, John Jr and Vasi held door open for people.  As they was shopping they saw a family who had matching outfits on.  John Jr gave them a compliment.  The family smiled at John Jr and Vasi.

At the car, John Jr and Vasi helped to unload the carts.  The momma was very appreciative and gave John Jr and Vasi some candy she had just bought.

It was Thursday, and Mohan's class teacher announced a special potluck party for Friday to celebrate Janmashtami, which was coming up that weekend. She asked all the students to gather in a circle and placed a bowl in the centre. The bowl was filled with colourful chits, each one with the name of a different dish written on it.
Excitement filled the classroom as each student took turns picking a chit from the bowl. Whatever dish was written on their chit was the one they needed to bring to the class party. Mohan's heart raced with curiosity about what he would get. With a mix of excitement and a little worry, he reached into the bowl, hoping that the dish he picked would be something his family could afford to bring to the party.
As he slowly unfolded the chit, Mohan saw the word "K H E E R" written in big, bold letters.
