Mama Cat was busy humming a tuneless song, and Papa Cat was already snoring softly by the fireplace. Little sister, Pip, was engrossed in a game of peek-a-boo with her favorite stuffed mouse. Whiskers sighed. He ate his breakfast alone, a bowl of slightly burnt salmon. At school, his friends greeted him with their usual cheerful hellos, but no birthday wishes. Even his teacher, Mrs. Whiskers, seemed preoccupied with lesson plans. Whiskers felt a little pang of disappointment. It wasn't the birthday celebration he'd imagined. He trudged home, his little cat heart a bit heavy. He opened the door, expecting the same quiet house. Instead… A roar of "Surprise!" erupted! His friends and family jumped out from behind the furniture, all holding a giant, tuna-flavored cake decorated with sparkling candles and tiny gummy fish. Mama Cat, Papa Cat, and Pip were beaming, and even Mrs. Whiskers peeked in from the doorway, waving a small gift bag. Whiskers's eyes widened. "You remembered!" he whispered, his voice choked with happy tears. Mama Cat chuckled. "Of course, we remembered, sleepyhead! We just wanted to make it a really special surprise. We planned this all along!" Papa Cat winked. "We even managed to keep it a secret from your little sister—that was the hardest part!" That night, surrounded by the warmth of his family and friends, Whiskers blew out his candles, making a wish for lots more secret surprises and many more happy birthdays. Thrilled by their good fortune, Cupcake and Peanut happily accept the offer, and enjoy their newfound priviledges. However, over time, the cookies grow to be too much. Cupcake and peanut become overwhelmed and ill from eating all the cookies. With a terrible retching sound, the woman transforms into a witch! The infinite cookies were actually a curse, and cupcake and peanut are suffering as a result of their gluttony. The moral of the story- do not eat too many cookies. The witch transforms into a speck of dust, and is blown away in the wind.

"You must always grow near good water, and follow the right path," Oak said. "Let me tell you a story." The Story of the Good Tree Oak began: "There are two kinds of trees in this forest. One tree, who grows by the dry, dusty path, never seems to bloom. The wind blows its leaves away, and its branches stay thin. It follows the wrong path, always listening to the wind that makes it sway in all directions." Sapling listened closely. "But," Oak continued, "there is another tree, who grows by the river. The river keeps it watered, and the sun shines on it all day. This tree has deep roots, strong branches, and it grows full of bright, healthy leaves." Sapling asked, "How does the river help it grow?" "The river," said Oak, "is like the Word of God. It gives the tree everything it needs to stay strong and bear fruit, even in difficult times. The tree by the river listens carefully and keeps its roots deep in the good soil." The Lesson Oak looked at Sapling and smiled. "If you follow the right path, listen to good advice, and stay close to the river of wisdom, you too will grow strong. But if you wander and follow the wrong ways, you might not grow as tall or strong as you want." Sapling thought for a moment and decided to listen to Oak. The little tree grew near the river and listened to the wise words of the forest. Over time, it grew strong, healthy, and full of leaves. Moral of the Story: Just like Sapling, if you follow good advice and stay close to what is right, you will grow strong and healthy. Avoid the bad paths and listen to wise words. Stay rooted in goodness, and you will always bear good fruit.
