Mom and Dad’s incredible journey begins in Portugal, where they meet in 2019 at a 3D design course—Mom was 28 and teaching interior design classes, and Dad, 27, was dreaming of becoming an architect in Canada. In 2021, during the pandemic, they find a farm in Salmon Arm, BC, where they work in exchange for food and shelter, making their dream of moving to Canada a reality. Mom even adopts two lambs from the farm! They make many wonderful friends in Salmon Arm, and four months later, with a trusty Pontiac Aztec, they find jobs in Vancouver and Abbotsford and settle in Surrey. On May 28, 2022, they get married on a beautiful farm in Salmon Arm, surrounded by both their families and friends. Two years later, they become permanent residents and buy a cozy apartment near Gateway Station in Surrey in 2023. By 2024, their lives take a magical turn—Mom is pregnant! On October 24, baby David is born, a healthy 4.5 kg bundle of joy. Mom’s parents fly in from Portugal to help, while Dad’s parents adore David from afar. With family and laughter, the night felt right, Besa was happy in the soft, calm night. 6) Next was Prizren, with streets made of stone, Where history and charm are clearly shown. They climbed the castle, so high in the air, Besa looked down, feeling love everywhere. 7) Then came the day she’d waited so long, To visit Gjilan, where she felt so strong. It is the place where her family is from, A town that always made her heart hum. 8) At Vali Ranch, the horses stood high, Besa chose one with a gleam in their eye. She rode with joy, feeling the breeze, Laughing and smiling, completely at ease. 9) She visited her familja (family) with hugs so tight, In Gjilan, everything felt just right. They shared stories, laughter, and love, Besa knew she was blessed from above. 10) Her summer in Kosova soon would end, But she knew in her heart, she’d come back again. The Vikings set up camp and built small houses to stay in. They spent the winter in Vinland, enjoying the fresh food and exploring the forests and fields. But as winter came to an end, Leif knew it was time to return home. He and his crew packed up their ship, and with one last look at the beautiful land, they set sail back home. Leif promised himself he would tell everyone about this amazing place he had discovered. When they returned home, Leif shared the story of Vinland with other Vikings. Even though he never returned to Vinland, he was proud to be the first European to find and explore it. And so, the tale of Leif Erickson and his journey across the Atlantic Ocean was told for many years. He showed everyone that with bravery, a strong ship, and a little bit of adventure, you could discover incredible new places, even ones you didn’t expect! And that is how the Vikings and Leif Erickson became the first Europeans to reach North America.

As the sun set, Dino Dan, Tina, and Spike returned home, reflecting on their incredible day.
